I am unable to install either Visio 2010 Professional x64 or Project 2010 Professional x64 on a new installation of Windows 7 SP1.I have successfully installed Office Professional 2010 x64, but unable to install Visio or Project. I have these already on a Windows XP x86 machine. I am deploying these apps on a Windows 7 VM, and I am mounting the downloaded ISO, but I can see all thefiles and I am also using this mode to install the Office Prof 2010 x64.I got the error, and I had installed the Office 2010 x86, which I have removed and then installed the x64 version.I have found a useful site which offers some additional information:-URL: forwardengineer.codeplex.com/releases/view/627821. When ever I click on the setup - either 32-bit or 64-bit, I get a pop-up dialog box, stating that the application is not compatible with the OS.2. I have tried running under compatible mode with Windows XP SP2 or SP33.

I have tried extracting the files via the command line:- setup.exe /C /T:C:TempThat generates another error, stating that there is a 16-bit application. Hi,I notice that you had successfully installed Office Professional 2010 x64, I confirm that your Windows 7 SP1 was 64-bit. Did you get an error message like this'You cannot install the 32-bit version of Office 2010 because you have 64-bit Officeproducts installed.

These 64-bit products are not supported with 32-bit installations' when you click on the setup - either 32-bit or 64-bit?If it was, I recommend we should comfirm the Office Professional 2010,Visio 2010 Professional and Project 2010 Professional all 64-bit.Open Word 2010 and then go to 'File-Help'. Take a look at the version info. Does it have '(32 bit)' besideit? Here is a similar issue:Thus,we may uninstall all the Office suits and install the program one by one:1.Office Professional 2010 X642.Visio 2010 Professional X643.Project 2010 Professional X64Here is a similar issue to uninstall and there is a tool to help you:Regards,George ZhaoTechNet Community Support. Hi George,When I first attempted to install the Visio 2010 Prof x64, I did get the error message that you refer to and then did the following:-a.
Un-Installed the 32-bit Office 2010 Profb. On attempting to install the 64-bit Office 2010 Prof, I go the error message that 32bit Groove Server or Client was installed- It turned out that not all the Office 2010 32-bit was removed automatically.

I removed many of the components manually, then editedthe registry to remove references to Office 2010c. I then downloaded the Microsoft Clean up tool to clean up the registry, and I got a clean bill of healthd. I was then able to install the 64-bit Office 2010 Prof - which works fineI can run up Word & Excel fine.I am unable to publish images until my account has been verified, I have made the request but I am awaiting for the verification.-1. I have attempted to follow the first link, and today the link is not valid.2. I am installing these products in VMWare becasuse my base OS is Linux, but this is not an issueas I have run win XP, Windows 7,Win Server 2008 etc all succesfully3.
I went to an earlier VMWare snapshot, prior to any Office 2010 installs and I mounted the Visio and I attempted to installthe Visio installer setup.exe and it will not work as in my final version of my Windows 7 build- see the picture below. I am not able to run either 32-bit or 64-bit4.
I can still run the Office 2010 Prof install.exe, just to prove that it can still work. The icon on the working Office 2010 setup.exe looks very different from the visio or project setup.exe icons5. Our 'Microsoft' administrator has provided me with the 3 ISO images & the 3 Keys for installation. The Office 2010 Prof works fine- the other 2 ISOs mount and look good but I am not able to install from them.
